(”Shellac is a resin secreted by the female lac bug, on trees in the forests of India and Thailand.”)
(Shellac was in rare use as a dyestuff for as long as there was a trade with the East Indies....There are a number of 13th century references to painted or varnished cassone, often dowry cassone that were made deliberately impressive as part of dynastic marriages.
3.”Considerations on the danger and impolicy of laying open the trade with India and China、Including an examination of the objections commonly urged against the East India Company's commercial and financial management”<678/C13>という図書のp.165に”The bay was covered with ships, and the custom-house soon overflowed with goods, even salt, casks of ironmongery and nails, salt fish, hogsheads of cheese, hats, together with an immense quantity of crates and hogsheads of earthen and glass ware, cordage, bottled and barrelled porter, paints, gums, resin, tar, &c.were exposed not only to the sun and rain, but to general depredation"と書かれており、”resin(樹脂)"という言葉があります。
4.”The cambridge history of southeast asia vol. 1”<223/6F>"East Java、927-1222”p.215に"It grew to be one of the world's richest lands, as bullion,gold and silver vessels, silk and the world's best porcelain, lacquerware, chemicals, and metal manufacturers poured in." Yet Cham ports did have important products which the Chinese and other international traders desired.....Rhinoceros horns(ground rhinoceros horn is a prized aphrodisiac among the Chinese), cardamon, beeswax, lacquer, resins and scented woods(sandalwood camphor wood and eagle or aloeswood) were also products of teh same upriver region."
