| 回答 (Answer) | 単位についての辞（事）典類を調べたところ、資料1,2にミルおよびパーミルの定義が記載されていましたので紹介します。 【 】内は当館の請求記号です。 資料1 二村隆夫 監修. 丸善単位の辞典. 丸善, 2002.3 【M2-G163】 p.782に、角度の単位として「ミル」の項目があり、（1）ラジアンの1000分の1、（2）砲兵ミル、（3）歩兵ミルという異なる3種類の角度が紹介されています。（2）は「円周の6400分の1の弧に対して張る角度」、（3）は「1000mの距離で1mが張る角度」と定義されています。 また、「パーミル」に関しては、p.267で「鉄道線路の勾配の単位．水平距離1000mに対して何m上るないし下るかを表わす」と説明されています。 資料2 Jan Gyllenbok. Encyclopaedia of historical metrology, weights, and measures (Science networks. Historical studies ; volume 56-58). Volume 1. Birkhäuser, [2018] 【M194-B5】 度量衡に関する英語の百科事典です。「ミル」については、p.157で資料1と同様に3種類の角度（artillery mil, old infantery mil, 0.001radian）が紹介されています。”artillery mil”は”the angle subtended by an arc of 1/6400 circumference”、“old infantery mil” は”1/1000 of a right angle” とそれぞれ定義されています。また、”old infantery mil”は第二次世界大戦中に米軍が用いたことや、イギリスにおいて”angular mil”という用語は一般的に”milliradian”を指すことなども記載されています。 なお、”infantery”は”infantry”の誤りと思われます。 「パーミル」については、p.180で”A unit of proportion = 0.001”と説明されています。 国立国会図書館提供調べ方ページ「リサーチ・ナビ」内の調べ方案内でも、単位に関する資料を紹介していますので、あわせてご覧ください。 ・単位について調べる（ https://rnavi.ndl.go.jp/research_guide/entry/theme-honbun-400100.php ） | ||||||||
