おそらく19世紀末～20世紀初頭にミシガン州で発行されていた雑誌 『Learning By Doing』 の所蔵を探している。断片的な情報でもかまわない。

１）雑誌 『Learning by Doing』 の所蔵館について
当該雑誌を発行した地域で所蔵していないか、Michigan、Battle Creek、Library、University などのキーワードから検索をしたところ、1館のみ、数冊の所蔵確認ができた。

当該雑誌は1897年に創刊されたようだが、雑誌としての刊行期間は短く、図書のシリーズ名となり継続していた、あるいは雑誌と図書シリーズが同時並行で刊行していた可能性がある。

〇キーワード "battle creek" "learning by doing" "Marshall"でgoogle検索した結果、下記論文がヒットした。
◆「Auf den Schultern von Riesen John Dewey und die Maxime Learning by Doing“」 p.137に、雑誌としては短命であったとの記述あり。

〇フリーデータベースInternet Archive : Wayback Machineで、調査済事項として記載されていたGoogle検索結果にあった雑誌『The Business Educator』を検索した。さらにSearch insideで "Learning by Doing"を検索したところ、下記が見つかった。
◆『The Business Educator』（1904年-05年刊）
p.87に The Ellis Publishing Company, Battle Creek, Mich., issues a 44-page catalog descriptive of their printing establishment and "Learning by Doing" publications.
との記述あり。図書シリーズを紹介しているカタログの可能性あり。

〇また、Carl C. Marshallの訃報を特集した『The Business Educator』（1929年-30年刊）があった。p.154で雑誌が存在していたことを示す記述があり、p.170で雑誌のサンプルが関係者に配布されたことがわかる。

〇大学契約データベース「アメリカ歴史雑誌記事集成データベース」で、”Learning by doing”で検索すると63件ヒットした。これをNewestとして検索順を並び替えると２件目に『Bulletin of the Virginia State Library』のIndexがヒットし、そこに”Learning by Doing”の記載がある。
◆『Bulletin of the Virginia State Library』
1915年刊行vol.8,issu2-4に、Virginia State Library（現Library of Virginia）の所蔵資料一覧と思われる内容があり、
p.693に
Learning by doing・・・・・・・・・・・5019
と記述がある。

これが雑誌の『Learning by doing』かどうかは不明だが、Marshallはバージニア生まれのようなので、故郷の図書館に雑誌を寄贈している可能性がある。
『Bulletin of the Virginia State Library』vol.8,issu2-4が所蔵資料一覧であるかどうかを読み解き、Library of Virginiaに所蔵を確認してみる、あるいはLibrary of Virginiaのアーカイブコレクションを検索してみることをおすすめする。

〇当時のアメリカの学校と教会の関係性を考慮し、大きな勢力があり、かつ古くからアメリカに存在している教会で、図書室関連の施設やアーカイブを公開しているところを確認した。
そのうち、The Office of Archives, Statistics, and Research (ASTR)のウェブサイト内で「Learning by doing」を検索したところ、『The Christian Educator』 Vol.3, no.2（1898年刊）内の「Ellis Publishing Company」の広告を見つけた。
◆『The Christian Educator』
図書 『The Teachers Review Book and Examiners Manual』 の紹介があり、その少し下に「Address, LEARNING BY DOING, Battle Creek, Mich.」との記載がある。

〇Hathi Trust Digital Libraryで確認すると確かに表紙に「Learning by doing」と書かれている。

２）図書シリーズ"Learning by Doing"の所蔵館について
一部を、Helen Warner Branchという図書館で所蔵している様子。
"Battle Creek" "Library"のキーワードでgoogle検索すると、Willard Libraryという図書館あり。
