下記資料１『ベースボール和英辞典』によると、「三遊間」を英語で表現すると「the hole（between third and short）」とある。
また、「third and short」の部分は「short and third」でも可とある。

例文としては以下が掲載されている。
ゴロは３遊間を抜けた
The grounder went through the hole between short and third.
ライナーは３遊間を抜けた
The line drive went between short and third ［punched the hole］.
３遊間の深いところから１塁へ矢のような送球をする。
fire to first from deep in the hole.
３遊間へ打つ
go into the hole on the left side.

なお、当館所蔵資料から「the hole」または「the hole between third and short（short and third）」の用例のある図書を見つけることはできなかった。
読売新聞の記事データベース「ヨミダス」から、読売新聞本紙と、それを訳したと思われる「The Japan News」（読売新聞社発行の英字新聞）の記事に、「三遊間」「the hole between short and third」の用例がある。関連部分のみ以下に引用。
